Sloped Yard Turned Into a Solid Parking Setup

Sloped yards are one of those problems that looks simple on the surface but gets complicated fast. You've got grade changes to deal with, soil that wants to shift, and no real flat surface to work with. This homeowner needed more usable parking space, and the slope wasn't giving them much to work with.

We came in and handled the excavation first - cutting into the hillside to create the room needed for a proper parking pad. Once the grade was established, we built out a natural boulder retaining wall to hold everything in place. That's where our rock retaining wall work really earns its keep. Large, interlocking boulders stacked and set to keep that cut bank stable long-term. No blocks, no timbers - just solid rock that's built to stay put.

After the wall was in and the ground was ready, we brought in our partners at Prep Works Cement to finish the concrete work. Collaboration like that matters. When each crew sticks to what they do best, the finished product is cleaner and tighter than if one crew tried to handle everything.

What the homeowner ended up with is a wide, flat parking area that can actually handle multiple vehicles with room to spare. The rock wall tucks right up against the fence line and keeps the yard above it clean and intact. Everything flows together - the concrete, the wall, the fence - without feeling pieced together.

Jobs like this are a good reminder that adding usable space to a property isn't always about building something new from scratch. Sometimes it's about moving some dirt, holding the ground back the right way, and letting a good concrete crew do the rest.
